It all started 50 years ago. Two brothers and $600 turned into the recipe for the world's largest pizza company in 1958, when a family friend with the idea of opening a pizza parlour approached the two brothers in Kansas. The concept was relatively new at the time, and the brothers quickly saw the potential of this new enterprise. Borrowing $600 from their mother, they purchased second-hand equipment and rented a small building on a busy intersection in Wichita, Kansas. The result of their efforts was the first Pizza Hut and the foundation for what would become the largest and most successful pizza restaurant in the world.
And there’s a story behind the name Pizza Hut. Pizza of course came from the food they were serving and Hut was added due to the shape of the restaurant, which resembled a hut. Thus, this was the birth of ‘Pizza Hut’. Pizza Hut has ever since come a long way spreading its flavour all over the world and forming an international chain of Pizza outlets. Today, Pizza Hut operates in more than 100 countries and territories throughout the world. From the first served crust pizza in 1958, Pizza Hut has continued to refine and develop new products to suit customer's tastes. Today, millions around the world love the exclusive Pizza Hut oven-fresh Pan Pizza, Thin 'N Crispy, Hand-Tossed Style, Stuffed Crust and Cheesy Bites. To mark its 50th anniversary celebrations, Pizza Hut has introduced a special 50th anniversary menu for all Pizza lovers. This menu promises to keep the taste buds tingling with the introduction of new appetisers, Italian Pizzas, Sautéed Pastas and desserts. | |

And also gives them another reason to share the good times with us.” Pizza Hut has bagged several prestigious industry awards having won 4 Oman Today Awards as the ‘Best Restaurant of the Year’. What started as a single outlet today has grown to 17 outlets across Oman, which makes it another reason to tag Pizza Hut as Oman’s favourite pizza outlet in the Sultanate. |
