The Defence Projects Division has been dealing with the Ministry of Defence, Sultan's Special Force, Royal Guard of Oman, Royal Court Affairs, Royal Oman Police and the US Air Force and Dyncorp (Contractors to USAF) on a number of projects for more than 25 years. | | | |  | The Logistics & Equipment Support Wing was created in response to the dearth of quality equipment supply, repair and maintenance facilities in Oman. | | It supplies technical hardware and software support for artillery command and control systems, and NBC warfare protection systems. It also provides training in operational and maintenance procedures for equipment supplied to the armed forces in Oman. | | | It also has specialized workshop facilities and provides technical back up for a wide range of military hardware including tank transmissions, G-6 transmissions and refurbishment of military vehicles. The division also handles complex military projects. KR Defence Projects Division represents Oshkosh Truck Corporation, USA in Oman. It has supplied Oshkosh Tank Transporters, Heavy Mobility Vehicles, and specialized Fire and Rescue vehicles to the Oman Army and Air Force. The division also supplies the armed forces with the OshKosh Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT). Our engineers have the capability to overhaul and maintain these specialized military vehicles. Khimji Ramdas bought the legendary High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV or Humvee) to the Sultan's Special Force and the Royal Guard of Oman. Serving the Omani Armed Forces and also available for civil usage, this vehicle is the purest expression of form following function. KR engineers closely interact with these organizations to ensure that their fleet is kept fully operational at all times. The Ministry of Defence Engine and Testing Facility has been built and kept fully operational for the last 10 years. We have recently upgraded this facility and we take pride in the fact that this facility is perhaps the very best available in the entire GCC. The Command and Control System for the G6 Artillery Guns in service in Oman has been supplied and installed by the division in collaboration with African Defence Systems, South Africa. Our engineers are capable of undertaking software and hardware modifications as per the operational requirements. The Defence Projects Division is involved with a long term project in collaboration with RENK / MTU of Germany for upgrading the Challenger Tank in Oman.
