Omanoil Renews Five Year Agreement With Khimji’s Mart To Manage 19 Ahlain Stores


Muscat, December 31st 2011 –
Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has renewed its agreement to manage and operate the company’s ahlain stores with Khimji’s Mart LLC. A frontrunner in quality and convenient shopping experiences that cater to Oman’s residents, 19 of the 74 ahlain stores have been managed by Khimji’s Mart over the last five years. With particular focus in Salalah, Sharqiyah and Dakhiliyah regions, omanoil exemplifies its perseverance to grow a stronghold presence across the various Wilayats of the Sultanate.

The first dual automatic Karcher car wash centre in Oman Inaugurated


Khimji Ramdas Industrial and Machinery Tools Division (IMT), the Engineering Solutions providing business under the flagship of the Infrastructure Group opened its first dual automatic Karcher automatic carwash centre on 20th December 2011 at Al Tharmad Filling station, Suwaiq. This grand opening in Suwaiq was witnessed by around 40 guests from Shell, Sarooj, Muscat Municipality, service stations and car dealers across the spectrum.

Karcher, the leading German company in cleaning solutions, has a market share of 70 percent in high pressure cleaners. Its association with Khimji Ramdas as its authorized dealer has been for the past 15 years.

Hritik Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said that, “Khimji Ramdas has pioneered change and innovations in Oman through its products and services and this is yet another ‘feather in the cap’. We strongly believe that Karcher’s initiative will go a long way in enabling our key target groups to change to the latest in the market”.

Richard Nouira, Managing Director of Karcher Middle East, “Highlighted the need for setting-up of an automatic carwash, the first of its kind in the region. Karcher has tailored this system for Al Tharmad filling station to suit the high traffic in the area without compromising on the result’. NS Vijaya Kumar, CEO Infrastructure Group, Khimji Ramdas highlighted that “The Industrial Machinery and Tools Division has been active facilitator of the Sultanate’s Industrial Growth and participates in all aspects of its development in the Core and Allied Industrial Sectors in both private and public domains’’. He added “The key feature of Karcher’s automatic car wash is its flexibility, durability and life span. We believe that this new endeavour from Karcher will be the next engine for change in this market.”

During the inaugural function many of the dignitaries’ experienced the variety of car wash programs available at the centre including the unique Karcher automatic carwash system, its efficient, cleaning process and CB Flex Duo.

Hitesh Akarte, Divisional Manager, IMT said, “Al Tharmad filling station has received an overwhelming response from its customers during the test phase exceeding all expectations. This attractive new set-up has led already to approximately 200 car owners daily queuing to for the carwash.”

The IMT Division caters to a wide spectrum of industries such as Manufacturing, Construction, Automotive, Oil, Gas, Chemicals, Fertilizers and other industries in the Sultanate of Oman. They have a full fledged service station with factory trained service Engineers to provide the most efficient pre and post sales service to its customers. KR Air-conditioning Division invited its top 20 Dealers to Paris to felicitate them for their year on year commitment to General AC sales support and also apprise them of the latest product developments. The Award function was organized from November 29 to December 4 2011 on a scenic River Seine boat Cruise, followed by two days of sightseeing across Paris.

DB Schenker Sets Up Joint Venture In Oman In Partnership With Khimji Ramdas

DB Schenker, the leading global integrated logistics services provider today announced its joint venture (JV) partnership with its long time ally in Oman – Khimji Ramdas.

The new joint venture company Schenker Khimji`s L.L.C. will provide logistic solutions in the fields of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Land Transport, Warehousing and Supply Chain Management. The new company will be an important new entity within DB Schenker’s worldwide network and will strengthen the Group’s aim to provide its customers with integrated logistics services worlwide .

The agreement between DB Schenker and Khimji Ramdas was sealed during the DB Schenker NMEA (Near Middle East and Africa) Conference 2011, held in Oman in October.

Pankaj Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas and Peter Glatz, CEO Region NME/A, Schenker Middel East FZE signed the agreement. KTI Conducts Advanced Debt Collection Programme For Oman Orix Leasing Company


Khimji Training Institute conducted its second consecutive Debt Collection programme for the employees of Oman Orix Leasing Company SAOG. The basic course was conducted last year, this year the advanced course for Debt Collection was conducted for 15 participants from various branches of Oman Orix that included Muscat,Birka, Nizwa, Sohar and Salalah. This interactive course focused on various practical aspects that are a pre-requisite for Debt collection.

Hiralal Barwani, CEO of Oman Orix Leasing Company SAOG along with its AGM HR, Issa Lawati awarded the certificates to the trainees at the end of the course.

KTI conducts regular training programs on Basic and Advanced Accounts, Auditing, Debt collection and Anti-money laundering for Corporate and Ministries across Oman apart from its regular courses conducted at its training facilities in Darsait, Al Azaiba and Al Hail.

Oral hygiene Campaign – “Pass on a Healthy Smile” With Crest & Oral B kicks-off


Crest & Oral B “Pass on a Healthy Smile” is a noble initiative by the Oral Care brands Crest & Oral B, to improve awareness on Oral hygiene in public in the Sultanate of Oman. As part of the campaign, Oral B & Crest, in collaboration with Kim’s Oman Hospital and Al Essa Dental Clinic will be conducting Free Dental check-ups for the residents of Oman in Lulu Bausher from 21st Sept 2011till 07th Oct 2011 and Carrefour Seeb from 20st October 2011 till 02nd November 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm.

This is a yearlong initiative aimed to conduct free dental checkups across Oman at various points in time.

Teams of experienced dentists will serve the public by providing a thorough and personalised consultation, identifying problem areas and dispensing key dental health advice. The initiative is the largest undertaking by the Oral-B and Crest brands and underscores their commitment to elevating dental hygiene and health across the region.

According to recent research survey conducted by Oral-B and Crest in GCC, almost 40% of respondents had not visited the dentist in over two years, 19% of which stated that their last dental check-up was conducted almost four years ago. In order to maintain good oral health, dentists recommend a dental check-up once every six months for both children and adults.

Commenting on the findings, Mohammed Ali Faruqi, Brand Manager, Oral Care, Arabian Peninsula said, “The findings underline the need to continue a consolidated effort to educate consumers about oral-care and its impact on overall well being. With this campaign we are trying to cultivate a change in behaviour, at first at the individual level and then expanding that to include the whole family, i.e. getting people involved in actively encouraging their family and friends to the check-up points, thereby creating a movement of sorts.”

New Super Cooling “General A/C” Draws Huge Interest At Muscat City Centre, Seeb


KR Air Conditioning Division promoted its latest model of "General" 5 speed control wall mounted AC at the Muscat City Centre, Seeb. The 15 day special promotion ended on 18th September 2011 attracting great interest and appreciation among the audience at the venue.

Oman is the first country in GCC to have the honour of launching this model in May 2011. The event was attended and appreciated by the representatives from Government, Consultants, Contractors and dealers.

To showcase the superior efficiency of the product, the Design Engineering Team of KR AC Division developed a 15 mt long wind tunnel which had the AC mounted to the rear wall. The people visiting the "General" AC area in the mall were presently surprised when they detected the strong air flow, standing 15 meters away from the wind tunnel.

Successful Blood Donation Drive At Khimji Ramdas


Khimji Ramdas organized its annual blood donation drive in association with Blood Bank of Oman, MOH on August 19, 2011 at Al Falaj Hotel. 356 people including KR employees, their families and friends came forward and volunteered to donate blood for a noble cause. This is the largest blood donation for KR compared to its previous years.

Anil Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said, “We are very delighted to see an overwhelming response for our annual blood donation drive. The number of volunteers donating blood has steadily increased year on year. Big Thanks to all the volunteers who make their commitment to donate blood. This year was special; as we saw 356 people donating blood for a good cause compared 303 people last year. KTI conducts its first ITIL v3 Certification Program

Khimji Training Institute in association with Quint Willington Redwood, U.K, conducted its first ITIL v3 Foundation program for the corporate and ministries of Sultanate of Oman. The three days program was attended by senior professionals from Diwan of Royal court, Bank Muscat, Teejan Contracting, Enhance, Royal Navy of Oman & Khimji Ramdas Group.

The program focused on imparting knowledge and preparing participants for the ITIL v3 Foundation Certification Exam. All the participants took the certification exam and successfully cleared it.

Participants from Diwan of Royal Court and Royal Navy of Oman said, “While registering ourselves for the program we had our own doubts on passing the certification exams, but the official curriculum, the work book and above all the facilitator made us understand the concepts clearly with plenty of practical day to day examples, which helped us to clear the certification exams. We are looking forward for moving up in the ITIL Certification ladder”

Sharing his views on the program, a participant from Bank Muscat said, “The three-day training session was highly interactive with participants coming from different backgrounds and sharing their thoughts and experience. The program generated focused interest in gaining clear understanding of all key concepts of the ITIL framework particularly from the perspective of their practical application in governance structures of organizations. The course material and program delivery were effective and helped all participants clear the examination. The program is also of great help as it offers 21 PDUs recognized by PMI for people with PMP to maintain their certification and for others that want to pursue PMI certification”.

The First International Convocation of SIBM held in Muscat

The first International Convocation of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in partnership with Khimji Training Institute, SIBM’s study centre in Oman was organized with a gala ceremony for the students of its first batch, who successfully completed their Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) in Muscat.
