Pizza Hut Trains its Call Centre Agents on Customer Service Management
Pizza Hut Oman recently conducted a rigorous training program for its call centre agents as a part of its Quality initiative to provide excellent customer service that matches its world-class standards. This training conducted in association with Khimji Training Institute, Muscat.
The program focused on areas that included Identify the characteristics of excellent customer service, Demonstrating professional call etiquette, improving the agents spoken English, Identifying and explaining the elements of the call flow including special training on dealing with arduous customers. The program was designed to enhance excellence in customer service.

The World’s Largest Liner - CUNARD’S QUEEN MARY 2, & QUEEN ELIZABETH, the luxurious ocean liner To visit to Oman during the first half of April 2012
History was made in 2010 when the world’s largest liner, Cunard’s flagship RMS Queen Mary 2 made her maiden visit at Port Sultan Qaboos. It was the first time a ship of such voluminous proportions entered the port of Oman.
April 2012 awaits 2 hugely iconic ocean liners QUEEN ELIZABETH and QUEEN MARY 2 to visit Muscat.
Both the vessels are arriving on Fridays and will be the centre of attraction at Corniche. This is a unique opportunity for the residents in Muscat to witness either the entry or sailing of these two majestic ships. Queen Elizabeth will arrive at Port Sultan Qaboos, on 06th April 2012 @ 0900 hours and will sail @ 1800 hours. Queen Mary 2 will arrive at Port Sultan Qaboos on 13th April 2012 @ 0900 hours and will sail @ 1800 hours.
Queen Mary 2 is the biggest ocean liner built at a cost of £540 million in the Atlantic liner in history. Everything about this ship is superlative and she offers a whole host of ‘firsts’ and exclusives. The dead weight of the ship is 151,400 tons. She is 1132 feet long, 135 feet wide and 236 feet tall. She is also the fastest passenger ship in the world today.

The new Queen Elizabeth named after the first Queen Elizabeth is one of Cunard’s greatest ships, she reflects her predecessor in interior grandeur, décor and style, but with a modern twist. From the outside, her distinctive black and red livery hints at an experience that differentiates a Cunard liner from a modern-day cruise ship.
Port Sultan Qaboos management took the initiative along with the agents, tour operators and tourism department to develop cruise tourism to Oman. The Port has become one among the few favoured ports for these ships because of the special attention given by Saud Al Nahari, the CEO of the port and his team. The tourists are impressed with the user-friendly regulations and positive approach of the Ports, Royal Oman Police Immigration department, customs department and Coast guard. Omani ports are one of the most favoured ports in the region for cruise operators. The authentic Arab heritage, architecture, hygiene and rich maritime history make Oman unique in the region.
M C Jose, CEO, Khimji Ramdas, Projects and Logistics Group said, “We Khimji Ramdas Shipping have handled 61 ships till date and will be handling 22 more ships to make a total of 84 ships during this winter season. Even though all lines we represent have called Oman, there is a drop in traffic. When compared to last winter season there is a drop of 17% on ship calls and 10% on passengers”.

“We handle leading cruise line brands such as brands of Carnival Cruise, Cunard, P&O Cruise, Costa, Princes, Aida, Minerva, Discovery, Ocean Village, Silver Seas, Amadia and Vship managed vessels. Ship sizes are increasing and larger ships are getting into these routes. Hence developments of port facilities are also becoming a requirement. Time has come for an active consideration of developing port facilities in Muscat. At the moment only two large vessels can be accommodated in Port Sultan Qaboos at a time. More ship calls can be attracted if the facilities are improved”.
“We introduced more port calls in Khasab this year and are confident of attracting more lines if the facilities can be developed. The facilities and tour opportunities are limited in Khasab. We are also receiving enquiries for Sur. At present, there are no alongside berth in Sur. Ships anchor close to the shore and transport passengers on small boats. A coastal cruise can be developed if Khasab and Sur can have ISPS compliant ports”.

José Carreras, the legendary tenor visits Khimji’s watches, Muscat
The legendary Spanish tenor José Carreras, visited the high-end Khimji’s Watches’ facility at Shatti Al Qurum in Muscat. Acclaimed as one of the World’s greatest tenors of all time, his charismatic presence and mesmerizing vocal display at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) has drawn admiration from the hugely interested and enthusiastic audience in Oman.
José Carreras graced the exclusive Chopard Corner at Khimji’s Watches with his august presence
on January 31, 2012.

In the summer of 1987, while José Carreras was pursuing a brilliant international career, he suddenly fell ill with leukaemia. Thanks to the treatment by a devoted team of doctors in Barcelona and in Seattle, he finally overcame this terrible disease. As a result of this painful experience, José Carreras decided to start a campaign against leukaemia and established in July 1988 the “Fundación Internacional José Carreras para la lucha contra la leucemia” in Barcelona.
The Scheufele family, owners of Chopard Geneva, are longstanding close friends of José Carreras, whom they first met in Vienna on the occasion of the opening of the first Chopard boutique.

On April 29th 1991, with the support of Karl Scheufele, President of Chopard Geneva, José Carreras created the “Fondation José Carreras pour la lutte contre la leucémie, Genève”, and in November 1995, the “Deutsche José Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung e.V.” in Munich. The goals of the Swiss and German foundations are in harmony with the guidelines established by the Spanish foundation and aim to achieve the same goal: “Each case of leukaemia must be definitively overcome”.
Since 1996, Chopard has made limited edition watches in the name of the famous tenor. A portion of the sales of these limited edition watches is donated to the Foundation.

Pizza Hut presents the ultimate taste – the Flavours of Arabia
It looks like pizza lovers are in for a really fine treat this New Year. Pizza Hut has just unveiled a hard-to-resist invitation to take one’s taste-buds on an Arabian adventure, with four exotic new “Flavors of Arabia” pizza toppings, a special appetiser and a traditional drink.

Pizza Hut managers attend Food Safety Training
Food safety is a growing concern across the world. Pizza Hut Oman regularly conducts food safety audits to uphold the highest levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Recently Pizza Hut conducted food safety training for 73 of its managers and supervisors across Oman in three batches. This training was conducted in association with the Ministry of Manpower at the Khimji Training Institute (KTI).
Anil Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas, said, “We work closely with leading hospitality professionals to maintain and meet the stringent food safety standards. Managers and supervisors at Pizza Hut Oman are HACCP (The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certified. Regular refresher training on personal hygiene and food safety are given to all employees at Pizza Hut in order to have a good understanding of the latest techniques in food safety management.
