Khimji’s Bait Al Ahlam’s stall generated lot of interest and curiosity among the visitors at the expo with the display of SIEMENS Home appliances, Home furniture & accessories and Khimji’s Permoglaze Paints.

While the impressive display at the SIEMENS stall with an exclusive focus on the built-in range stood apart as a distinct and unique display, cooking demonstrations with Siemens Home appliances kept the audience enthralled at Women Expo 2007 held in Oman International Exhibition Centre, Seeb. A series of Cooking demonstrations hosted by Mrs. Iqbal and Mrs Madhu Arvind, both renowned for their exquisite culinary skills using Siemens Home appliances met an overwhelming response from the visitors to the Women Expo, especially women folk.

Siemens appliances are especially noteworthy for their user-friendly features, ease of operation, safety and durability, besides aesthetic appeal. Food processor, deep fryer, hand mixers, bar blender, electric kettles are the few small appliances among the wide range of Siemens Home appliances which were showcased at the Expo.

The World Numero Uno in Sanitaryware - Roca

98000 tourists to visit Oman through Costa Crociere & AIDA cruises

COSTA CROCIERE and AIDA CRUISES EXPECT 98000 TOURISTS TO VISIT OMAN DURING THIS WINTER SEASON BY DEPLOYING THREE VESSELS
COSTA CROCIERE and AIDA CRUISES are both sister companies of Carnival Corporation and will inaugurate winter schedule in December with 46 ship calls. Around 98000 tourists are expected to arrive Oman through their vessels. Costa Romantica, Costa Europa and AIDAcara will be calling Port Sultan Qaboos every week. Tour originates from Dubai and calls Muscat enroute to other destinations such as Fujeirah, Abudhabi and Bahrain. Time duration for the Middle East voyage is 7 days. Costa Romantica and Costa Europa will be catering to international tourists where as Aida Cara will be concentrating on German tourists.
Costa Crociere, the number one cruise company in Europe and South America, and AIDA CRUISES, the number one operator in the German speaking cruise market, have made their official debut in Muscat during December 2006. The AIDAcara (38,557 gross tonnage, total guest capacity of 1339 and crew capacity of 370) will fist call Muscat on the 1st December. Costa Romantica (53,000 gross tonnage, total guest capacity of 1697 and crew capacity of 596) will first call Salalah on the 15th December and Muscat on the 17th December. Similarly, Costa Europa (54700 gross tonnage, total guest capacity of 1773 and crew capacity 636) will first call Salalah on the 19th December and Muscat on the 21st December.

After the inaugural calls, AIDAcara, Costa Romantica and Costa Europa will call Muscat every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday respectively each week until March 2008.

Costa Europa will make final call to Muscat on the 26th February and to Salalah on the 28th February. Whereas, AIDAcara will make a final call to Muscat on the 12th March. Similarly, Costa Romantica will call finally Muscat on the 31st March and Salalah on the 2nd April.

AIDAcara will make a total of 15 port calls to Muscat. Costa Romantica will make a total of 16 port calls to Muscat and 2 port calls to Salalah. Similarly, Costa Europa will make a total of 11 port calls to Muscat and 2 Port calls to Salalah.

Costa Crociere and AIDA Cruises have scheduled 42 stopovers in Muscat during this winter season 2007/2008. During the winter season these three ships will be offering 7-day cruises in the Arabian Gulf with departures from Dubai and including Muscat. Owing to the success of 2006/2007 winter season deployments a leading international cruise operator such as Costa Crociere and AIDA Cruises have decided to schedule itineraries intended for an international clientele with departures out of Dubai, which is easily accessible from Europe, and calls in the Arabian Gulf, which is renowned for its fine, sunny weather and mild winter. Oman is especially popular in Europe on account of its seaside, landscapes and cultural heritage.

Unlike last year Costa Crociere are deploying two vessels for this region in view of the high demand in the European market. Similarly, AIDA Cruises have almost doubled their number of calls to Muscat from 9 to 15 from 2006 to 2007 winter season respectively.

The majority of Guests on the Costa Romantica and Costa Europa will be European, mainly Italian, German, Austrian, French, English and Spanish. They will fly to Dubai from Europe – 90% of them on charter flights and embark in the UAE port. The guests on board AIDAcara will be mainly German speaking guests.

The Costa Crociere and AIDA Cruises passenger movements in Muscat will boost the tourism in Oman, giving important support to the promotion of the Sultanate’s tourism potential in Europe and contributing significantly in show casing Oman’s diverse tourism products

The Costa Romantica, Costa Europa and AIDAcara cruises will include guided excursions in each port of call, with visits to some of the best local tourist attractions – places of natural beauty or historical and cultural interest. The program features desert adventures, trips to some of the most exclusive beaches in the Arabian Gulf, visits to the finest mosques, historical buildings and museums, tours of the cities and their typical markets. Guided excursions in Muscat include a tour of the old town, Nizwa Oasis, Wadi Bani Khalid, Wadi Shaab, and boating trips to go dolphin-watching.

Khimji Ramdas Shipping LLC are the port agents for Costa Crociere’s ships Costa Romantica and Costa Europa. Khimji Ramdas Shipping LLC are also the port agents for AIDA Cruises ship AIDAcara.

Khimji Ramdas Shipping LLC have also been appointed as the GSA for Costa Crociere in Oman. ‘This is a great opportunity for the Omani holiday makers as they can book their cruise on all the Costa ships from KR Shipping office in Muscat. Since Costa have various itineraries to Mediterranean, North Europe, Caribbean, Transatlantic, South America, UAE and Far East, The holiday makes gets a chance to meet the experts for choosing the right tour program. There are Arab speaking and English speaking sales personnel in their office to answer all the quires of the customers.
KR shipping has already started reservations and has noticed good response from local market for next summer. Cruise itinerary begins from five days to twenty-two days. The costs for cruise start from RO 350 onwards to make it affordable for tourists of all walks of life. Special Early Bird pricing is available for guests who plans their vacation in advance. Companies are considering giving cruise tickets as rewards for excellence and for target achievements. Some companies are considering having to Management meetings on short cruise. Others are thinking of dealers meeting on board. Some multinational companies are considering their Middle East Conference on board on the weekly voyage offered with Middle East locations. Middle East Voyage gives a glimpse of different countries in the Middle East. If a larger number is booked, the line can offer special rooms for conference and meeting rooms for brain storming sessions. Another attraction seen is the reservations made by honeymoon couples. Britannia forms JV with Khimji Ramdas Group

Britannia Industries Limited announced yesterday that it has formed a Joint Venture with Khimji Ramdas Group to run two bakery product companies in the fast growing Middle East market.

Britannia and its associates have acquired 70 percent beneficial stake in Dubai-based Strategic Foods International LLC and Oman based Al Sallan Food Industries Co. SAOG.

The two companies are significant regional players in the biscuit and cookies segment in the GCC markets and export their products to over 70 countries around the world.

The companies have a combined annual turnover in excess of approximately Rs 160 crores with leading brands such as Nutro, Family Choice and Bakers Pride.
