Muscat, 5th April: Eshraqa, Khimji Ramdas Social Development Arm, recently won the 'Best CSR Project' at the prestigious Al Roya Business Awards 2018. His Excellency Darwish Bin Ismail Al Balushi, Minister responsible for Financial Affairs presented the award to Anil Khimji, Director of Khimji Ramdas,in a ceremony held at Kempinski Hotel Muscat. The presentation was made in the presence of ministers, industry authorities, businessmen, entrepreneurs and government officials.
Commenting on the CSR award, Nailesh Khimji, Director of Khimji Ramdas, responsible for Eshraqasaid, "We are grateful to have received such outstanding recognition at a platform as renowned as Al Roya Business Awards; such accolades do help in driving our commitment higherto serve people and communities of Oman.Enhancing the quality of life and community services for the Omani people at the grassroots level with a deep rooted focus on the less privileged will continue to remain our goal.The award also recognizesthe tireless efforts and innate resolve of the Eshraqa team and it is to them that I dedicate this award."
Eshraqa has formed partnerships with public and private companies, social organisations, and educational institutionswhich operate on a non-profit basis in its work towards social development objectives under the three main pillars of Education, Health and Community Wellbeing across the Sultanate that aims to empower children, youth, women and SMEs.
Amongst its achievements in championing positive social change, Eshraqa's projects have focused in the last two years on Wilayat ofSamail and had delivered positive change to government schools and hospitals with the implementation and setting up of essential equipment and smart solutions. Following two years of work in and around the Wilayat of Samail,Eshraqa now plans to direct its efforts in 2018/2019 to the regions of WilayatIzki and Bidbid.
Eshraqa is a notable contributor to the education sector; its outreach programmes have proven to be of great value to schools, international scholarship programmes, internships, vocational and entrepreneurial training under the framework of Eshraqa Learns. In addition to education, Eshraqa has been a strong votary of health care initiatives; it endorsed the Sultanate's first evernutritional survey, it also focuses on improving the medical infrastructure at hospitals donatingvital-signs monitors and furniture,conducting blood donation drives and raising awareness of health issues under the Eshraqa Heals. Eshraqa continues to work with social service organisations to support the community development needs in the interiors, as well as delivering provisions for less privileged sections of society during Ramadan under Eshraqa Cares.
