Muscat: Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, the Eshraqa Foundation, the community development arm of Khimji Ramdas, signed six agreements with various entities from the governorate. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of members of the Shura Council, walis, sheikhs, dignitaries, members from the Board of directors of Khimji Ramdas (KR) Group alongside heads of government service sectors in the Buraimi governorate.
These agreements reflect the partnership between the public and private sectors in meeting community needs across various fields. The initiative covers several areas including health, education, social development, sports, and religious affairs, particularly through support for Quranic schools in the governorate; in addition to assisting low-income households, in collaboration with the walis and registered charitable teams in the governorate.
The first agreement was signed with the Ministry of Health to support the healthcare sector by providing specialized medical equipment to enhance an ophthalmology clinic. Another agreement was signed with the Ministry of Education to supply government schools and innovation centers in the governorate with interactive smart screens.
The agreements also included support to initiatives of the Ministry of Social Development, such as establishing a sensory room for children with special needs at the Al Wafa Rehabilation Center in Al Buraimi; providing the Omani Women’s Association in Al Buraimi with a 14-seater bus and equipment to empower its members to continue developing their skills and generating income through their creative crafts.
Additionally, the agreement with the Ministry of Social Development supports charitable teams with various types of household electronic appliances to be distributed to low-income households. Another agreement was signed with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth to support the Al Buraimi Sports Complex with modern physical therapy and rehabilitation equipment for sports injuries.
In coordination with the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs, an agreement was signed to supply all Quranic schools in the governorate with computers, interactive smart screens, and a variety of electronic devices and equipment to enhance and facilitate the educational environment in these schools.
H.E. Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi stated: “The KR Eshraqa Foundation’s projects represent a meaningful step in enhancing the quality of life for people
across governorates. We value the ongoing contributions of the Foundation, whose efforts continue to complement government priorities and create lasting impact across sectors.”
Speaking on the occasion, Nailesh Khimji, Director of Khimji Ramdas, said: “These agreements reaffirm our commitment to supporting Oman’s socioeconomic development in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. By investing in community and social development initiatives, we aim to empower individuals and institutions across governorates to thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress.”
The KR Eshraqa Foundation has been established on the premise that the private sector has a responsibility towards the development of local communities and empowering talented individuals in the Sultanate. By working towards nation-building at the grassroots, the Foundation aspires to contribute meaningfully by providing infrastructure that will lead to the enhancement of knowledge, skills, capabilities, health and overall wellbeing in society.
